Part 1: Day 1 from Singapore to Taipei

Today is 09 Jan 2008 (Moi 1st day in Taipei). Weather is fine & cloudy.
This morning, I woke up @ 8.30am. Although my flight is at 1pm but have decided to meet up slightly early with my friends for breakfast and shopping inside both T1 & T3. In an effort to save on my transportation cost, I have decided to take Bus 858 to the airport. This is also the 1st time I am taking a bus to airport with all my luggage…haha. Anyway, maybe today is the 1st day T3 is officially opened for commercial flying hence, the bus was very crowded. Mostly packed with passengers who don’t seem to be going overseas i.e. no carrying luggage. After 30mins of bus journey, I finally reached the airport and meet up with my friends for breakfast & touring around T1 & T3. At 12.45pm, we boarded the plane i.e. Jetstar Asia 3K521 and here we comes…TAIWAN!

It was about 5.30pm when we touch down @ 台北桃園国际机场 Terminal 1. Average temperature is 24˚C. After settling the usual SOP, we went to bought the coach tickets from Freego Coach Service which will bring us to our hotel in Xi Men Ding (西门丁). The journey from airport to Xi Men Ding takes about 35-45mins. It was around 7.15pm when we reached our hotel i.e. Royal Castle Hotel Taipei (成都大饭店).

After checking into our hotel, we immediately depart to our 1st night market of the day i.e. Huaxi Night Market (華西街夜市) to settle our dinner and shopping. Foods that we have tried @ Huaxi tonight include several award winning dishes such as BBQ Prawn, Drunken Prawn, steamed 蚵 & 蛋仔面. Apart from that, we also tried their other street snacks/foods e.g. 魯花肉, 大鸡排, 蔥油饼, 综合豆花, 珍珠奶茶 etc. Damn SHIOK man! It was about 11.30pm when we decided to take MRT back to our hotel.
