My 2nd Sister, Doreen’s Wedding

17 09 2008

Today is 14 September 2008 (Sunday).
This morning, my whole family & I woke up very early ‘cos its my 2nd sister’s Big Day i.e. Chinese Traditional Wedding. After I have washed up, I quickly change into a set of nice clothing in preparation for some photo taking. As soon as my 2nd sister i.e. the bride finished her make up, my elder sister and I quickly took turns to take photos with her using our own cameras.

It was about 8am when the bridegroom i.e. my 2nd brother-in-law came and fetch the bride. There wasn’t any games being played hence the bridegroom was able to get hold of the bride effortlessly. Then, we were arranged by the photographer to take some family photos. I could see that everyone of us was so happy and excited. Despite that, there was a moment when suddenly the whole atmosphere became a little touching. That was when my 2nd sister was about to leave the house. She and my mom started to weep. Gosh, upon seeing that, i suddenly felt a slight pinch in my heart.

It was about 8.30am when my 2nd sister left the house with my 2nd brother-in-law. After which, I went to take a quick rest before helping my mom to do some cooking. Yeah! You’re right…I’m doing some cooking! Haha…actually its some simple cooking (together with Tony, my elder brother-in-law) i.e. deep frying finger foods using an electrical appliance meant for deep frying. Simple task right?! Haha.

At ard 12 noon, most of my relatives have arrived at my house. Soon after my 2nd sister (together with her hubby) reached my house, we then started the Tea Offering Ceremony. It took about 15 mins for the Tea Offering Ceremony to be completed. Celebration in my house continued until 4pm when all the guests started to leave.

Tonight’s wedding dinner was held @ Orchid Country Club (OCC), Sapphire Suite 11 (Ballroom). My family and I reached OCC at 7.20pm. Then, we went to my 2nd sister’s hotel room @ the Resort Hotel, OCC to look for her. IMHO, the rooms @ the Resort Hotel, OCC are satisfactory. I didn’t really explore much as well. After taking a few photos with the bride, I then went to the Sapphire Suite 11 (Ballroom) to help out in some ushering duties.

The whole wedding feast lasted about 2.5 hrs. It was about 11.30pm when we left OCC.

On the whole, the wedding was a successful one. Unlike my elder sister’s chinese traditional wedding (which was held 3 years ago), my 2nd sister one was much more simpler. Nevertheless, it was still very enjoyable and memorable. Hereby, I shall wish her forever happiness in her marriage.

A Belated Birthday Dinner @ Sakae Sushi, Marina Square

29 08 2008

Today is 26 July 2008 (Sat).
This evening, I met up with Yongsen & Eric @ Suntec City/Marina Square for my belated birthday dinner. After much choosing for a place to dine-in, we finally decided on Sakae Sushi @ Marina Square.

At Sakae Sushi, I ordered a rice bowl (Chicken Teriyaki) for my dinner. Besides, I also eaten a few plates of sushi which I have picked up from the conveyor belt.

This year, apart from getting a birthday dinner treat @ Sakae Sushi from Yongsen, Eric & Liangji, I also received a white polo tee (purchased from The Signature by Levi Strauss & Co.) from the 3 of them.

Thank you all of you for the dinner treat as well as the gift. I appreciate it very much.

Moi 27th Birthday

28 08 2008

Today is 24 July 2008 (Thurs).
Time really flies. It’s another “July 24” again. Once again, I am 1 year older. 27 this year…To some, it may be considered old but to others I am still young & youthful. Haha…

This year, my birthday seems rather silent or less happening…Unlike last year, where I got dinner treat from my family, a birthday cake etc but this year…I only have a simple dinner @ home and no birthday cake…Haha.

Actually, I also do not ask for much…given my age, what can I still expect? A birthday party @ KFC or McDonald meh?! Anyway, I am already very happy @ least my family and good friends still remember my birthday.

Thank you for all your birthday wishing (be it via sms, msn or phone call).

My NTU-NBS Convocation 2008

28 08 2008

Today is 22 July 2008 (Tues).
This morning, my whole family (except my 2nd sister ‘cos she was in Bangkok) woke up very early preparing to attend my convocation ceremony.

We managed to reach NTU @ 9.45am. Though, we are not late but seems like most of the people have already taken their seats in the Nanyang Auditorium. After I put on my graduation gown, we then proceeded into the Nanyang Auditorium to take our respective seats.

At 10am, the convocation ceremony begun. After much talks and speeches given by the invited guests, we were then required to go up the stage one by one to take our stage photo as well as an empty folder for our degree certificate.

At around 12 noon, the whole convocation ceremony ended. Then all of us were invited to proceed to the School of Biological Science to have our refreshments. I met up with my family outside the Nanyang Auditorium to take some family photos. Then, I asked them to go and have some refreshments while I went to look for my friends to continue my photo taking.

It was about 2.30pm when we left NTU.

After attending my convocation ceremony, I felt very relieved and happy. Finally, I have completed my university studies and managed to obtain an acceptable GPA as well as a Degree in Business with a 2nd Class Honours (Lower Division). At least, all my time and efforts for these 3 years have not been wasted. Now, I can officially declare myself as a NTU Graduate! Haha…

My 2nd Sister’s ROM @ Park Royal Hotel

26 08 2008

Today is 20 June 2008 (Fri).
Finally, I managed to apply for a ‘conditioned leave’ (‘cos I am having my ICT) for my 2nd sister, Doreen’s ROM @ Park Royal Hotel (Beach Rd). At 6.30pm, my brother-in-law & elder sister came to fetch my parents, nephew & me to the hotel located somewhere in Beach Road.We reached Park Royal at about 7.10pm. Initially, we have some troubles searching for the venue of the ROM. It was actually held by the poolside i.e. an outdoor ROM ceremony. After much twists & turns, we finally found the outdoor swimming pool.

At the entrance, we were greeted by my 2nd sister & future brother-in-law. Needless to say, both of them are neatly & nicely dressed in evening gown & suit. It was about 8pm when the solemnization started. The whole process lasted about 20-30mins. After which, we then proceed on to help ourselves with the foods.

I didn’t really do a lot of socializing over there ‘cos don’t really know much of my 2nd sister’s friends except for 1 or 2. Anyway IMHO, the F&B buffet @ Park Royal was ok only…not really that fantastic though, given that it is a high class hotel (4-5 stars). However, I personally enjoyed their pastries esp. their cheesecakes…Of ‘cos not forgetting their scrumptious lobster soup too. In term of their service quality, it was good. Empty plates were cleared in time. Their service crews were polite & helpful as well. Throughout the ROM ceremony, my family & I also managed to take quite a no. of photos too…haha.

Overall (minus away the outdoor heat), I do enjoyed the whole ROM ceremony. Can see it was planned with much efforts & time. I would also like to give credits to the 2 uncles who sang & performed really well tonight (though I heard both of them are hired @ a high fees…haha).

Last but not least, I shall hereby wishing all the best to my 2nd sister, Doreen…要幸福喔!
